Role Description

The Mobile Genset Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom.

This role involves traveling to customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair mobile generator sets and associated temporary power equipment.

The engineer will perform fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and safety checks, ensuring systems operate reliably and efficiently.

Daily tasks include inspecting mechanical and electrical components, updating service records, preparing technical reports, and advising customers on best practices for equipment use.

The Mobile Genset Engineer will also collaborate with the wider technical team to resolve complex issues, support emergency call-outs, and contribute to continuous improvement of field service procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Mobile Application Development and working with Mobile Applications for diagnostics, reporting, or service coordination.
  • Experience with i OS Development and related tools to support technical workflows or field service applications.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles for building or maintaining internal software tools.
  • Background in Software Development, particularly in creating or integrating systems that support engineering operations.
  • Solid knowledge of diesel and gas generators, power distribution systems, and related electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Relevant technical qualification (e. g., NVQ, HNC/HND, or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or similar field).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the London Area and, when needed, further afield.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently on-site as well as within a cross-functional team.
