The continued success of our Advanced Sensing hardware product line has created the need to scale our quality capability alongside business growth. The Senior Quality Manager will play a key role in supporting this growth, ensuring quality processes are robust, scalable, and able to support increasing product volume and complexity.
The role is responsible for the leadership and delivery of quality assurance across the hardware portfolio, owning the effectiveness of quality processes and ensuring products, systems and materials meet required standards and are delivered with consistency and reliability. The role provides clear ownership, leadership and visibility of quality performance, acting as the primary point of accountability for quality outcomes and a key point of engagement for senior stakeholders on quality risks, issues and resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, ownership and visibility of quality assurance across Advanced Sensing, ensuring products, systems and materials meet company and international standards.
- Lead and develop the quality capability, including management of team members and evolution of the function as the business scales.
- Own supplier quality across Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, including audit programmes, approval processes and performance management.
- Take full ownership of quality incidents, leading root cause analysis (RCA), defect identification and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure robust testing and validation processes are in place, with accountability for product approval prior to release or shipment.
- Set, maintain and continuously improve quality standards across the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory and certification requirements (e.g. CE, FCC, IEC).
- Provide clear visibility of quality performance through reporting, metrics and structured communication of risks, issues and remediation plans to senior stakeholders.
- Act as the quality lead in cross-functional forums, confidently representing quality topics and driving alignment on resolution and improvement actions.
- Analyse the effectiveness of quality processes, systems and controls, identifying risks and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS) and support audit and compliance activities.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior quality role within hardware, electronics engineering or manufacturing environments, with clear ownership and leadership of quality outcomes.
- Experience managing and developing teams, providing leadership, direction and visibility across quality functions.
- Strong track record in supplier quality management, including audits, approvals and performance improvement.
- Demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis, defect reduction and quality incident management.
- Experience establishing and maintaining testing, validation and product approval processes.
- Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, CE/FCC).
- Experience operating with visibility at senior stakeholder level, including communicating complex quality issues and driving resolution.
- Strong analytical capability with experience assessing process and system effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and leadership, influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Some exposure to working at a global level is an advantage.
