Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an Estimator to join their Machine Shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, quoting and securing subcontract machining and metal finishing work. Working closely with Purchasing, Production Control and Sales teams, you will review customer requirements, prepare detailed quotations and support projects from enquiry through to order placement.
THE ROLE:
- Reviewing customer requirements from CAD drawings, technical specifications and engineering documentation
- Preparing detailed quotations and proposals for subcontract machining and metal finishing projects
- Assessing project costs and margins alongside the Machine Shop Manager
- Deciding whether to bid on customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Supporting Production Control and Sales Order Processing with ERP system input and order management
- Liaising with customers regarding quotations, work in progress and delivery schedules
- Working closely with Purchasing and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate project costing
THE PERSON:
- Highly organised and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
- Experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Estimating or Engineering Business Development
- Familiar with CNC machining and manufacturing processes
- Able to read and interpret CAD drawings and engineering drawings
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused attitude
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Software literate and confident using Microsoft Office packages
- Looking for training, development and long-term career progression
