Security Specialist

London – Hybrid (4 days weekly in office)

VIQU has partnered with a prestigious Fortune 500 company that is looking to hire a Security Specialist with knowledge of networking. The Security Specialist will lead in delivering comprehensive technical solutions, overseeing the entire network and security lifecycle to ensure peak performance and reliability across the organization.

Key Duties of the Network and Security Specialist:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure the network and security infrastructure meets current and future needs.
  2. Monitor and respond to security incidents using tools like SIEM and Sophos MTR.
  3. Maintain system security by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, and ensuring timely patching.
  4. Manage vulnerability remediation based on penetration test results and risk assessments.
  5. Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and apply swift mitigation actions.
  6. Stay current on security technologies and trends to enhance system protection.
  7. Design disaster recovery plans and coordinate incident responses with the IT Team Leader.
  8. Ensure adherence to security policies, SLA requirements, and compliance standards.
  9. Maintain comprehensive system documentation and support system upgrades.

Experience needed:

  • Strong expertise in firewalls and a deep understanding of Cisco technologies including routers, switches, and ISE.
  • Skilled in security tools such as Zscaler (ZIA & ZPA), Splunk, and general IT security best practices and prevention.
  • Certified in Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell.
  • Background supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Exchange, and exposure to Linux OS.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization and HCI technologies (e.g., VMware, VxRail, RecoverPoint) and backup solutions like Rubrik.
  • Comfortable managing infrastructure performance, capacity planning, and data center or vendor/carrier relationships.
  • Understanding of unified communications (e.g., Cisco CUCM) and modern enterprise IT environments.
