Power Platform / BI Engineer Manchester – Hybrid (3 days on-site) £55,000 - £70,000 + Life Insurance + Pension
Are you an experienced Power Platform and BI Engineer looking to join a specialist digital consultancy where you can shape modern data and automation solutions within complex, regulated environments, building foundations rather than inheriting someone else's? This is a permanent role within an ambitious, growing consultancy specialising in project controls, data, and digital transformation. It is already embedded in some of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes across defence, energy, and utilities.
The environments are complex and regulated, large-scale programmes with evolving data maturity, real governance requirements, and stakeholders who depend on accurate, timely insight. The work is hands‑on and greenfield in nature, building reporting, automation, and data foundations using the Microsoft Power Platform, helping organisations move away from manual, fragmented processes towards scalable, reliable insight.
Working closely with a Data Analyst, you will translate business needs into well‑structured, secure, and maintainable solutions. This is a great opportunity offering technical variety, visible impact, and within key infrastructure programmes.
The Role:- Build and optimise end‑to‑end Power BI solutions including semantic models, DAX measures, incremental refresh, and performance tuning.
- Design and operate Power Automate flows with robust error handling and monitoring across ingestion, transformation, validation, and refresh cycles.
- Integrate data from SharePoint, SQL, REST APIs, and Excel‑based sources with validated transformations, documented lineage, and clear metadata.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and governance standards across environments, access controls, and solution lifecycle management.
- Strong hands‑on Power BI development experience including data modelling, DAX, optimisation, and incremental refresh.
- Power Automate experience building robust, monitored flows with proven error handling in production environments.
- Solid SQL and data handling skills, shaping, validating, and working with inconsistent, real‑world datasets across multiple source systems.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and DevOps practices within Power Platform; familiarity with governance frameworks and REST API consumption desirable.
We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates.
