Overview: Senior Developer with Openlink's Findur, SQL and Java, providing application support for Treasury applications in the City of London.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, support, and maintain Treasury application systems using MS SQL Server and Openlink's Findur treasury system.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and accuracy of the production database environment and maintain optimal performance for dependent applications.
- Plan and implement operating procedures for database backup and recovery.
- Develop database‐related application standards covering creation, software placement, storage, and auditing.
- Maintain and test the recovery system, ensuring its integrity at all times.
- Develop and enhance database procedures to support the application suite.
- Respond to, resolve, and document support calls for production and test applications.
- Produce high‑standard documentation for database build, maintenance, and operational procedures.
- Act as the technical liaison between database operations and vendor support.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of solid experience as an MS SQL Server DBA (2005/2008) with Java development and support.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition and high‑level T‑SQL programming (stored procedures, functions, triggers).
- Operation, design, and implementation experience with mirroring, log shipping, and SQL Server replication.
- Maintenance and tuning of SQL Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
- Good understanding of a WINTEL environment with AD domain and user administration.
- Experience with OpenLink Findur Treasury Application and scripting language AVS is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of change management concepts and application configuration, clustered database servers, external storage, scripting stored procedures, and database security concepts.
