Service Now Technical Consultant (ITSM / ITOM)
We are seeking an experienced Service Now Technical Consultant with strong platform build and integration expertise to support the delivery of enterprise‑scale ITSM and ITOM implementations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, developing, and supporting Service Now solutions aligned to business and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Administration & Governance
- Administer and maintain the Service Now platform across development, test, and production environments
- Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and access controls
- Configure and maintain platform security, including ACLs and role‑based access control (RBAC)
- Support instance governance, upgrade planning, patching, cloning, and release management activities
- Monitor platform health, performance, and compliance with organisational standards
- Platform Configuration & Development
- Configure and customise core Service Now modules, particularly ITSM and ITOM
- Design and develop workflows, Flow Designer automations, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and notifications
- Perform UI customisation using Service Portal, Workspace, forms, related lists, and catalog items
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server, and third‑party connectors
- Support CMDB design, discovery, event management, and service mapping activities where applicable
- Produce scalable and maintainable technical solutions aligned to platform best practices
- Implementation & Delivery
- Work collaboratively with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle
- Translate functional and technical requirements into Service Now solutions
- Participate in sprint planning, technical design workshops, and code reviews
- Support testing activities including SIT, UAT, regression, and defect resolution
- Contribute to deployment planning and post‑go‑live support
- Documentation & Best Practice
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and knowledge articles
- Ensure developments align with Service Now development standards and governance processes
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers or administrators where required
- Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering Service Now ITSM and/or ITOM implementations
• Strong hands‑on experience with
- Platform administration and configuration
- Workflow development and Flow Designer
- Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and ACLs
- RBAC and security configuration
- Service Catalog and request workflows
- Integration development using REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub
- Experience with CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, or Service Mapping is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Service Now platform architecture and best practices
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across integrations and platform functionality

- Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS‑ITSM)
