At Engine by Starling, we are on a mission to find and work with leading banks all around the world who have the ambition to build rapid growth businesses on our technology. Engine is Starling's software-as-a-service (SaaS) business, the technology that was built to power Starling Bank, and two years ago we split out as a separate business. Starling has seen exceptional growth and success, and a large part of that is down to the fact that we have built our own modern technology from the ground up. This SaaS technology platform is now available to banks and financial institutions all around the world, enabling them to benefit from the innovative digital features and efficient back-office processes that have helped achieve Starling's success.

We draw upon our experience as knowledgeable bankers and best in class technologists to become the chosen option for these banks and preferred partners for leading consultancies. As a company, everyone is expected to roll up their sleeves to help deliver great outcomes for our clients. We are an engineering led company and we're looking for someone who will be excited by the potential for Engine's technology to transform banking in different markets around the world.

Hybrid Working
We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Engine - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person.

About the role
We're looking to expand our Marketing and Business Development team with a Creative Designer. In this role, you will support our Senior Graphic Designer and you'll be responsible for communicating the Engine proposition through design - whether that's on our website, social (LinkedIn predominantly), events, PR, collateral and product demo videos, or sales pitches. You'll help express what makes Engine by Starling special, and your work will continue to set the tone for how we present ourselves. It is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's most exciting B2B SaaS technology companies.

What you'll get to do

  • Work with the Business Development team to craft and advise on communicating the Engine Proposition. This involves a broad range of tasks that include creating visuals (static and motion) for compelling proposals, demos and assisting in the design of original content, such as white papers and collateral amongst other similar tasks. (40%)
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to bring new pages of our website to life and refresh old ones, making sure that design works, including device compatibility, as hard as it can to illustrate the Engine proposition. Use data, such as page load time and page clicks, to measure the effectiveness of our design and content and understand the performance of our output - then using that insight to regularly improve. And ensuring we can translate promotion of products, features and thought-leadership on social media. (30%)
  • Develop concepts for international and regional brand campaigns and activations - think sponsorships, event series, and partnerships across the world. (20%)
  • As the second Creative Designer on the team, you'll be integral to the building of the brand and applying it consistently across our internal and external communications. Continuing to evolve our brand guidelines, making sure they're useful and practical for every part of the business, from creating concise document templates for the wider team, to merchandise design, to developing concepts for events.
