Overview
Technical Architect - Banking / Financial. Must have an active SC Clearance.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, and third-party technology partners to design solutions that align with industry regulations and modern cloud-native architecture.
The position is ideal for an experienced Technical Architect with strong Banking and Financial Services expertise and a proven track record designing enterprise-scale technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise technical architecture for complex banking platforms.
- Define solution architecture across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and integration services.
- Collaborate with business, engineering, and delivery teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design secure API and microservices architectures supporting modern banking platforms.
- Work with third-party vendors across Product Accounting, Risk, Financial Crime, and Core Banking platforms.
- Ensure solutions align with government and regulatory frameworks, including Open Banking, PSD2, and GOV. UK standards.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Produce architecture documentation and support governance, design reviews, and technical assurance activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect within Banking and Financial Services.
- Strong knowledge of Open Banking, PSD2, CMA, and GOV. UK architecture standards.
- Experience integrating Product Accounting, Risk Engines, Financial Crime, and Core Banking platforms.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience designing Payment Initiation Services across payment rails including BACS, SEPA, and Faster Payments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure including compute, networking, storage, databases, monitoring, load balancing, high availability, disaster recovery, IAM, Zero Trust, and security technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Git Hub, Jenkins, Maven, Sonar Qube, Docker Hub, Argo CD, Helm, Azure Dev Ops, Terraform Cloud, and Docker.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
