We are recruiting for a Banking Operations Officer with at least 5 years of experience to join the team at this bank based in Central London. Familiarity with MX SWIFT messaging, including formats such as pacs.008 and pacs.009, is desirable but not mandatory. Exposure to MX SWIFT messaging is preferred; however, candidates without this experience will be considered, provided they demonstrate the ability to learn quickly.

Strong customer handling skills are essential, as the role involves direct communication with customers and delivering a high standard of customer experience. Candidates should possess knowledge of financial crime principles and demonstrate the ability to apply these effectively within payment processing activities.

  • Treasury Settlements: Process SWIFT payment instructions received from Head Office, branches and subsidiaries in the core banking system. Process MUREX entries in the core banking system for corporate customers and vostros. Prepare and update incoming and outgoing pacs.009. Inform Treasury of inward and outward pacs.009, when required.
  • Swift Alliance: Create/modify/approve SWIFT messages when required. Monitor and complete EOD reconciliation of SWIFT messages. Ensure MT110, MT195, MT196, MT199, MT910, and MT999 are attended to in a timely manner.
  • BACS Payment: Maker or Checker function for BACS Payment Periodic Instruction and earmarks on the core banking system and Bottomline PT‑X.
  • Teller Duties: Assist with counter service duties and input Teller Transactions in the core banking system. Attend to encashment of cheques, deposits of cash and pay‑in cheques. Answer customer queries over the counter and via telephone. Maintain cash till when cash counter is open.

Candidates with less than 2 years of relevant experience may be considered. The position is 5 days in the office. Salary will be in the range £35K - £40K.
