The Mandate
This firm has conquered the micro-second world. They are a technological powerhouse with some of the lowest-latency execution rails in the market. Now, they are pivoting. They are deploying significant risk capital into Overnight and Mid-Frequency strategies. They need a PM or Senior Sub-PM who understands "Macro" (Rates/FX/Indices) to plug into their execution machine. The thesis is simple: Your Signals + Their Zero-Slippage Execution = Higher Sharpe. You provide the alpha; they provide the rails to ensure you capture 100% of it.
The Hard Questions (What You Will Solve)
- The "Execution Alpha" Loop: Most Macro PMs accept slippage as a cost of doing business. Here, you must re-engineer your entry logic to utilize HFT infrastructure. How do you use queue priority and passive fills to turn transaction costs into a revenue stream?
- Micro-to-Macro Feature Engineering: How do you incorporate Level 3 order book dynamics (cancel rates, book pressure) into signals with holding periods of 3 minutes to 5 days?
- The Overnight Gap: Unlike their core HFT business which ends flat, this mandate involves carrying risk. How do you structure your portfolio to manage gap risk while leveraging the firm’s intraday hedging capabilities?
The Structural Edge
- The Rails (Execution Alpha): Run your strategies on infrastructure built for HFT. While your competitors are paying the spread, you are capturing it. Fill rates are higher, slippage is near non-existent, and market impact is minimized.
- The Culture: This is a technology firm, not a bank or a layered multi‑strategy platform. There are no investment committees and no red tape. If the backtest is robust and the code is clean, the capital is allocated.
Ideal Profile
- The Quant: You trade G10 Futures, FX, or Liquid Indices with holding periods ranging from minutes to days.
- The Tech‑Native: You are hands‑on (Python/C++). You don’t hand specs to a developer; you work alongside them in an integrated loop.
- The Level: Open to a proven PM or a high‑performing Sub‑PM blocked by a ceiling (or netting risk) at a large Multi‑Manager.
Compensation Structure: 30‑50% Formulaic Payout. Note: This is a pure "Eat What You Kill" proprietary trading structure designed for high‑conviction risk takers who want to maximize upside.
