As our Commercial Building Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to‑day management of our office buildings and commercial spaces. You’ll make sure our buildings are safe, compliant and well maintained, while delivering a high-quality experience for customers, visitors and commercial tenants. You’ll work closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure our assets are performing well, meeting legal requirements and providing strong commercial value.

What you’ll be doing
- Property management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of office and commercial buildings.
- Ensure all maintenance and works are delivered safely, on time and to agreed standards.
- Monitor building condition, presentation and cleanliness, including communal and external areas.
- Make sure tenants meet their lease obligations.
- Planned works and investment
- Support investment planning for your buildings, ensuring compliance with legal and lease requirements.
- Help scope and deliver improvement works to the right quality, cost and timescales.
- Health, safety and compliance
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are met and records are up to date.
- Carry out regular checks, inspections and fire drills.
- Act as Fire Marshal and oversee security systems such as CCTV and access control.
- Ensure buildings are safe, secure and welcoming at all times.
- Leadership and team management
- Lead and support the Facilities Management team to deliver a great service.
- Ensure reception and front-of-house services are covered where needed.
- Promote a positive, high‑performing and customer‑focused culture.
- Financial management
- Manage budgets for facilities and maintenance activities.
- Monitor spend, identify savings and ensure value for money.
- Work with finance teams on service charges, forecasting and recovery.
- Partnership working
- Manage contractor performance and build a strong, reliable supply chain.
- Work with internal teams (including legal, procurement and assets) to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Support joined‑up working to resolve issues and improve services.
- Customer and stakeholder engagement
- Act as the main point of contact for building users and tenants.
- Build strong relationships with occupiers and respond quickly to queries.
- Understand customer needs and continuously improve the service.
What we’re looking for

- Experience in facilities management or building management.
- Sound knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing contractors and service delivery.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience working in a customer‑focused environment.
- Budget management experience.
- Good IT skills for planning and communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- BOHS P405 – Management of Asbestos in Buildings.
- BOHS P901 – Legionella Management and Control.
