About the role:
We are looking for a Scheme Manager to join our Specialist Living team. This role is site based at Eden Court, Grange Avenue, Manchester, M19 2FZ. A driving licence will be required for this role as our Scheme managers travel to our other schemes on an ad hoc basis and may also be required to attend the office as and when needed.
The purpose of this role is to provide intensive housing and building management services at Onward sheltered housing schemes, enabling tenants to live confidently and independently in their own homes and ensuring Onward meets its health & safety and compliance requirements. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the scheme, providing excellent customer service that meets and exceeds expectations, including reporting repairs. The successful candidate will participate in partnership working, liaising with various external contacts to develop processes and communication across the board to maintain collaborative working.
Provide each tenant with an agreed level of intensive housing management, responding to any tenant emergencies in a professional and proactive manner. You will ensure that each Sheltered Housing scheme meets the regulatory standards for all H&S compliance requirements and reduce risk to ensure security of the building.
What we require:
- Experience of working and dealing with older people in a service environment.
- Driving licence and access to your own car.
- Experience of building management and compliance requirements.
- Relevant knowledge of Health & Safety policies and risks.
- Ability to work on your own initiative as part of a dispersed team.
- Skilled communicator with excellent customer service skills.
- Experience of working proactively to improve services and customer satisfaction.
- IT Skills – Microsoft Office up to an intermediate level.
- A satisfactory disclosure barring service (DBS) reference will be required.
- Desirable - National Wardens Certificate/Sheltered housing certificate or equivalent.
