Role: Standard Controls Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Employment Type: Contract (Renewable)
Role Responsibilities:
- To manage the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of Control systems and standards to ensure production ready equipment interfaces.
- Maintain close working relationships with other Manufacturing Engineering teams, Manufacturing Operations, and IT Departments.
- Provide technical expertise to problem solving activities to accurately identify root cause and corrective actions.
- Maintain Technical Standards, Project Books and specifications for all Manufacturing systems in line with the departments Bill of Process, global standard operating practices and Jaguar Land Rover quality systems.
- Maintain interfaces specifications from Shop Floor PLC’s/Applications to Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Commission and work on machine monitoring/quality systems within Production facilities.
- Developing new suppliers, cost effectively, into the groups Standards for Equipment Manufacture.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

- Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in Manufacturing.
- Experience of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) programming methods.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of machinery safety legislation and standards.
- PLC experience.
- Robotics experience.
- Industrial Ethernet Networks.
- Knowledge of IT networks and architectures.
