We are recruiting a Painter (Multi‑skilled) to join our Onward Repairs team. Your main focus will be working with our Damp and Mould team to improve properties across the North West of England. This role allows you to start and finish your day from home, with occasional team meetings at the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Following training assess and diagnose damp and mould problems and any HHSRS risks.
  • Carry out a three‑stage Damp and Mould treatment, ensuring homes are compliant for re‑letting.
  • Complete legal disrepair work and ensure homes are decorated to housing standards.
  • Undertake full painting and decorating duties.
  • Identify and rectify defects in paintwork.
  • Prepare all internal walls and ceilings for paint or paper.
  • Paint internal walls and ceilings with emulsion paints following correct preparation.

Customer Services

  • Provide excellent customer service whilst ensuring prompt work to the required standard.

Liaison and Technical Advice

  • Liaise with clients, customers and colleagues regarding access, safe working practices and assessment of repair requirements and progress.

Health and Safety

  • Undertake work in line with all health and safety requirements, demonstrating knowledge of key health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Sound knowledge of building construction, components, trades and building regulations.
  • Experience of working in a customer‑focussed service.
  • Proven ability to deliver a quality, customer‑centred repairs service.
  • Experience working in a target‑driven environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ACOPS relevant to the post and HASAWA 1974.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in a commercial and domestic property maintenance environment.
  • Experience delivering services in the social housing sector.
  • Experience using PDA technology.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • City and Guilds Craft Certificate in painting or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant health and safety qualifications relating to construction.
  • Asbestos awareness training.
  • Power tool training.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Training in COSHH & PPE.
  • Training in mobile work platforms and working at height.
  • HHSRS qualification or willingness to work towards completing it.
  • Damp and Mould training or willingness to work towards completing it.
