About the role

We are looking for a Gas Team Leader to join our Onward Repairs team in Merseyside. The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of Gas related activities to ensure successful completion of the works within constraints of budgets, deadlines, quality and health & safety ensuring this matches our goal of placing customers at the heart of our service, including providing supervisory support and leadership to Colleagues.

Responsibilities

Delivery

Support the Onward Repairs project plan to deliver improvements in the quality and the efficiency of the services provided. To lead on the day-to-day management of contractor functions and suppliers relating to all Gas activities delivered on time and within budget.

Performance

Ensure key operational, financial targets and Gas Servicing KPI’s are achieved in line with the aims and objectives of the business. Successfully manage budgets to ensure delivery of agreed KPI’s and operating plan.

Resources

Directly manage productivity to ensure the effective use of all resources including supply chain. Lead the teams and identify where improvements can be gained, providing support to all direct reports on evolving issues.

Quality

Undertake effective quality control and quality assurance on works carried out, utilising work in progress inspections and post inspections.

Health and Safety

Undertake effective quality control and quality assurance on works carried out, utilising work in progress inspections and post inspections.

Systems

Undertake effective quality control and quality assurance on works carried out, utilising work in progress inspections and post inspections.

Responsible for implementing appropriate systems and controls that support the delivery of projects, continuous improvement and that risks are monitored and managed effectively.

Line Management & Leadership

Provide line management and leadership to a team, managing resources to ensure that objectives are achieved.

Internal Partnership Working

Ensure collaborative working to deliver required service levels across the region.

Skills/Experience

Essential

• Experience of the management of a similar construction trade based maintenance business.
• Commercial knowledge and understanding of Gas Systems and Servicing.
• Proven ability to deliver a quality customer centred repairs service.
• Track record of managing Gas servicing programmes.
• Experience of successfully delivering a similar role within another organisation with experience of leading a team to high level performance.
• Commercial knowledge and understanding.
• Ability to effectively manage productivity, and resource/work planning.
• Ability to manage an effective supply chain.

Desirable

• Knowledge of work planning and repairs IT systems.

Qualifications

Essential

• Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (recognised trade qualification).
• Qualified to work with Central heating, Water heaters, Cookers, Pipe work, unvented hot water, (formally ACOPS 1-14).
• Qualified Gas Safe Engineer (CCN1) – Install, Commission, Service, Safety Check Natural Gas and LPG and appropriate CSCS card.

Desirable

• Professional qualification in a property/building related specialism MCIOB, MRICS, MICE, BIFM etc.
• Recognised Gas Trade qualification
