About The Role

The purpose of this role is to deliver effective management of Fire Safety work packages and updating of electronic retrieval systems across the region in accordance with regulatory undertakings to ensure Onward is fully compliant and reduces any residual risk to customers, colleagues and third parties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, Testing and Inspection: Ensure that all active fire equipment is commissioned, tested and along with certification are appropriately recorded and validated prior to handover to the Compliance Team for inclusion in cyclical maintenance regimes.
  • Contract Management: Ensure effective management and administration of Fire Safety contracts including, monitoring progress, resolution of issues, providing on-site quality controls and financial management of the project, reporting as appropriate.
  • Data Management: Maintain up to date information relating to Fire Safety Compliance risks, including ensuring the operation and development of appropriate data management systems accurately recording all testing, inspection, and remedial works.
  • Performance Measurement: Ensure that contracts are delivered in accordance with strategy, policy and procedures relating to Fire using agreed KPIs, management information, and assist in production of reports.
  • Collaborative Working: Provide input as required into the development of Landlord Compliance risk reduction strategy and procurement strategy. Contribute towards investment that mitigates risk and work closely with repairs and maintenance leads in relation to responsive and void maintenance.
  • Health and Safety: Responsibility for Health and Safety along with compliance and legislative requirements for all fire related activities within the region, including delivery of Fire safety training to colleagues.

Essential

  • Demonstrable track record of managing investment programmes particularly fire safety packages of work to a high level of performance.
  • Experience of interpreting complex data and using it to inform decisions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of building construction, standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and leasehold legislation.
  • Knowledge of Core Housing Systems particularly fire safety management to monitor progress and other compliance systems.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and effective contract administration/financial management with commercial understanding of value for money drivers in construction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and on-site health and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • IT skills - Microsoft Office to Intermediate level.
