Develop your career with support and access to training and qualifications. About The Role We are seeking an inspiring leader to take charge of our First Time Fix maintenance service. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future and growth of Onward Repairs—our in-house maintenance contractor—ensuring it delivers customer excellence, value for money, and social impact across the Northwest. You will lead the evolution of our maintenance services, develop a high-performing surveying function, and play a key role in influencing our wider property investment and asset management strategy. This role is initially offered on an 18 month fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities Culture & Ethos Champion a culture of customer excellence, pride, and professionalism across all teams. Strategy & Growth Develop and implement a strategy to deliver a seamless First Time Fix service. Lead the growth of Onward Repairs as our primary contracting organisation. Resource Planning Ensure the right trade capacity, capability, and resource planning are in place to meet organisational goals. Drive value for money through efficient service delivery. Collaboration & Influence Work closely with peers and stakeholders to integrate services across Onward Repairs, the Contact Centre, and Maintenance Surveying. Leverage sector innovations to shape future service delivery. Performance & Value Ensure services meet customer expectations and deliver high performance and cost efficiency. Social Value & Northern Pound Maximise social value through training, apprenticeships, and local supply chains. Business Development Build and maintain a strong network to support Onward’s reputation, growth, and strategic partnerships. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience managing a maintenance or facilities service at a senior level. Strong understanding of property investment, asset management, and portfolio planning. Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and deliver operational excellence. Expertise in resource planning, supply chain management, and lean service delivery. Strong budget and performance management skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (intermediate level or above). Qualifications Essential: Relevant qualification in a construction-related discipline. Valid Health and Safety qualifications. Desirable Degree in a property-related discipline. Chartered status (e.g., CIOB, RICS).
