About The Role
Ontra is seeking a Sales Engineer reporting to the Director on our Sales Engineering team. We’re looking for someone excited to leverage their funds industry expertise to craft compelling value propositions, utilize in-depth Ontra product knowledge, and strategically contribute to revenue growth through insightful client interactions. We expect this role will travel to customers, events, and offsites at least once per month.

What You’ll Do
- Product Expertise and Customization: Conduct comprehensive internal and external research and discovery to prepare tailored sales demos, effectively showcasing how Ontra's product addresses unique prospect needs.
- Customer Engagement: Engage actively in conversations with potential and existing clients, demonstrating deep knowledge of both the product and the funds industry to communicate valuable propositions.
- Operational Efficiency: Maintain up-to-date CRM records and perform diligent call reviews, ensuring all operational tasks are completed accurately to support the sales process.
- Strategic Collaboration: Participate in strategic discussions with account executives, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to align on sales strategies and drive cohesive efforts.
- Sales and Product Enablement: Engage in continuous training sessions and sales enablement conversations to refine skills and ensure in-depth understanding of product advancements.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 6+ years selling to legal, compliance, and finance stakeholders or 4+ years in the private funds legal or investment management space; familiarity with the private funds or legal tech spaces preferred.
- Sales acumen: Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of motivation and drive.
- Communication skills: Expert presentation skills and strong ability to communicate in both written and verbal forms with various levels of buyers.
- Collaboration: Passionate about building strong, trusted relationships with sales teams, internal teams, and prospects/customers through feedback and clearly articulated suggestions and proposals.
- Problem Solving & Learning: Exceptional problem-solving skills with aptitude for quickly learning new technologies; desire to grow, evolve, and teach solutions internally and externally.
- Systems Thinking: Strong ability to iterate on current systems and improve processes as part of a growing team.

Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission, variable compensation, profits interest units, or other equity-based compensation, which are not included in the below base pay range.
