Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting an Assembly Technician to join our shop floor team. This role will be based at our Bolton site.
The Role
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for building and stripping a variety of simple and complex filtration units, utilizing your knowledge and skills to assemble filters efficiently and accurately. While not essential, experience within the aerospace industry would be advantageous.
You will assemble, test, and inspect a range of mechanical products and final‑unit instruments, using diagnostic tests, methodologies, and high‑level technical assembly techniques. You will interpret and utilize assembly and engineering drawings and specifications. In addition, you will work within a production environment to undertake and support assembly and testing activities as required to meet business needs.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies relating to health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities, and quality assurance. You will ensure all assembly and testing activities are completed to the required quality standards, meet contractual customer expectations, and conform to specifications to enable progression to final inspection and release. The efficient and correct use of test equipment and diagnostic tools is essential.
About You
We look for a candidate who can demonstrate safe, responsible, and compliant use of a variety of tools and equipment. You will have a working knowledge of measurement equipment such as verniers and micrometers. Experience in aerospace or a highly regulated background is desirable.
