Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Hydraulic Test Technician to join our team where you'll support us in ensuring the performance, reliability and compliance of critical aerospace components. This role will be based at our Staverton site.

The Role:

As a Hydraulic Test Technician, you’ll play a key role in testing and validating hydraulic and mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet stringent aviation standards. Working within a highly regulated environment, you’ll carry out precise testing activities using dedicated test facilities, following detailed specifications and work instructions to ensure accuracy and consistency.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining full traceability throughout the testing process, as well as supporting fault finding, strip down and repair activities when required. Working closely with engineering and quality teams, you’ll contribute to investigations and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to maintain the highest standards of product integrity.

This role also involves completing accurate documentation, carrying out self-inspections, and ensuring components are fully prepared for quality control checks, all while adhering to strict health, safety and environmental standards.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring experience from a mechanical, hydraulic or test environment, with a strong understanding of working with engineering components and technical documentation. You’ll be confident interpreting drawings and specifications, with a high level of attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.

Experience testing hydraulic units would be highly beneficial, with any exposure to electrical testing also an advantage. You’ll be comfortable working to tight tolerances and deadlines, with a hands-on, problem-solving approach to your work.

You’ll ideally hold an apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline, and have a solid level of computer literacy to support documentation and system use.
