Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Receiving & Release Inspector to join our Quality team where you'll support us in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and customer requirements.

Ontic is more than just a business, we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We're committed to excellence, driving us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry.

The Role:

As a Receiving & Release Inspector, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of aerospace and marine components throughout the inspection process. You’ll be responsible for carrying out detailed inspections of incoming and outgoing products, ensuring they meet design data, customer specifications and purchase order requirements.

Working with a range of inspection tools and techniques, you’ll assess complex mechanical components both visually and dimensionally, making informed decisions to accept or reject parts based on defined criteria. You’ll also review documentation such as First Article Inspection Reports in line with AS9102, and ensure all certification and release paperwork, including Certificates of Conformity and UK Form 1, is completed accurately prior to delivery.

Alongside inspection activities, you’ll support cross-functional teams including Supplier Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain in resolving product-related issues, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring all work is carried out in line with Ontic procedures and regulatory requirements.

About you:

At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skillset, we're also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have experience in a quality inspection environment, ideally within aerospace or another regulated industry, with a strong understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to inspect components against detailed specifications. You’ll be confident using precision measuring equipment and have a high level of attention to detail when assessing product conformity.

Experience with CMM inspection, particularly using PC-DMIS software, and knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection would be advantageous. You’ll bring strong problem-solving skills, a methodical approach to your work, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance will be key to your success.
