Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of âExtended Life Solutionsâ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our team based at our office in Staverton, Gloucestershire to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.
As a procurement manager you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the procurement team to achieve key results in support of the business and the companyâs external supply chain. Youâll be responsible for the overall strategy, performance and risk management for your segment of the supply chain and ensure their alignment with achievement of the companyâs key results. This is a key position in Ontic which allows forward planning of spend, establishes strong relationships with our suppliers whilst supporting the business desire for continuous improvement of business level processes.
You develop and drive strategy, partnering with legal and contract teams at Ontic to negotiate contract solutions which support business KPIs and mitigates the risk of supply. In addition, youâll develop the supplier base through performance monitoring, improvement plans and supplier risk mitigation plans. Youâll identify, rationalize and create strategies for the supply chain based on supplier competency and value for the respective commodities/sub commodities.
What will you need to know?
- Experience in commodity management, procurement management or senior technical buying role. This will ideally be from an Aerospace background but we welcome applications from individuals experienced in manufacturing, service or maintenance businesses.
- Youâll need to be commercially minded, with the ability to deliver âoutside of the boxâ solutions to commercial problems.
- Youâll have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present your identified solutions for stakeholder approval.
- Youâll need to be confident in making decisions and possess excellent negotiation and organizational skills.
- Youâll have gained strong IT Skills with a knowledge of ERP systems (Visual and/or Syteline ERP experience is preferred, but not essential).
- This role will require travel to our suppliers both nationally and internationally.
