Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Project Management Office. This role supports work transfer and product introduction. It is based at our Staverton site with travel to other sites and customers on a global basis.
The role is suited to someone with a strong background in work transfer and new product introduction in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Manage complex global projects from conception to completion, using appropriate methodologies.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to the project team.
- Participates and/or drives project planning through Merger & Acquisitions.
- Review and ensure the effectiveness of Ontic project procedures, processes, templates, and tools; partner with peers from other Ontic sites to ensure consistency.
- Work with business functions and project stakeholders to define the project approach.
- Define Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and estimate resource requirements.
- Identify and apply project dependencies and activity sequencing.
- Monitor project governance to ensure adherence to plans and milestone achievement; take action when timing is compromised or critical path affected.
- Manage the project to the agreed scope and handle proposed changes in scope.
- Monitor and report upon project outputs and acceptance criteria.
- Manage the preparation and update of project documentation sets.
- Risk & Opportunity Management throughout the project lifecycle; escalate issues and trends to the RoW PMO Director.
- Implement project Quality Assurance.
- Monitor planned resource utilisation vs basis of estimate.
- Manage internal resources to ensure timely allocation and release of resources to business-as-usual activities.
To be successful, you will need:
- Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
- Extensive understanding in a range of project management methodologies.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry/manufacturing processes is required.
- Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
- A working knowledge of business IT systems and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
- Highly motivated with strong technical and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Displays sound judgment and diplomacy.
- Ability to advise and influence project teams and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to self-manage and coach team members.
- Ability to produce quality, accurate and timely management information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
