Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team in Bishops Cleeve. What You’ll Be Doing

As an integral part of the OE team, you will be responsible for the assembly of various mechanical products and sub-assemblies to support the final unit production cells.

The Key Responsibilities Include

  • Assembling and inspecting various mechanical products and sub-assemblies using the correct tools, documentation, and procedures.
  • Compliance with production processes and procedures, production schedules and recording standards using business IT systems (i.e. ERP/MRP).
  • Assembling and inspecting top level LRU’s using the correct tools, documentation, and procedures.
  • Ensure finished products conform to quality standards to enable progression to inspection and release process.
  • Demonstrates personal behaviours that underpin and support a safe working environment.

What You’ll Need To Know

You will have previous experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment with mechanical products / special processes. You will have a good understanding of written instructions, schematic drawings, specifications, work orders and engineering documentation. You will be able to demonstrate excellent dexterity due to the small mechanical parts needed in assembly and attention to detail, and in addition to being computer literate. You will be comfortable working towards deadlines and performance targets. You will have a passion for lean methodologies, continuous improvement and furthering your own personal education. Aerospace experience, working within a Part 145/21G environment is an advantage and preferred, but not essential.
