Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join our brand‑new MRO Europe site in Tewkesbury, England, United Kingdom. This role is based at the new Ontic Tewkesbury site, with occasional travel between all our Gloucestershire sites expected.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Site Director, you will manage the risks across the Tewkesbury site and work closely with the ROW Health & Safety team to install a strong safety management system for Ontic UK. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with safety legislation, adopting and enforcing safety policies, and implementing protective and preventative safety measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with contractors and the site facilities team on all aspects of facility redevelopment.
- Ensure that all transferring products and recommissioned assets are transferred in a safe and compliant manner.
- Oversee all processes and ensure company compliance with HSE legislation.
- Attend site‑specific leadership meetings and conduct site walks.
- Write site‑specific policies and procedures.
- Implement a functional safety management system, including site audits, a general risk assessment process, and contractor control.
- Deliver proactive site‑wide HSE training and provide observation reporting.
- Serve as the main point of contact for day‑to‑day safety matters in Tewkesbury.
- Manage and support all accident investigations across the site.
- Organise and manage the health and safety committee.
- Support occupational health rehabilitation and manage health surveillance referrals.
- Record and monitor site safety KPIs.
- Ensure the action tracker is completed and all actions are closed in a timely manner.
- Support the PMO with the introduction of new products, ensuring a pragmatic approach with international equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
You will bring strong IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. Ideally you have experience in manufacturing, engineering, or the aerospace or aviation industry. Knowledge of HP oils, air systems, safety guarding, NDT radiation exposure, DSEAR, and high‑voltage environments would be an advantage.
