Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are recruiting for a PMO Quality Lead to join our growing PMO team based in Staverton. The Role
To own delivery of quality aspects of a project. To identify, plan and ensure compliance to regulation and internal controls can be maintained through the project and aligned to BAU for project closure. The role is responsible for ensuring that Ontic has completed all required activities associated with quality approvals. A good understanding of regulatory requirements and Aerospace standards is essential.
Responsibilities
- Advise PMO and Business Development teams on the most effective approach to novating quality aspects of licences and acquisitions
- Coordinate regulatory authority variations as required, including Military, UK CAA, FAA, EASA and others
- Lead quality-related transfer activities, including Design Authority moves and TSO/ETSO transfers
- Ensure business systems and processes are updated with accurate quality data to support BAU following project closure
- Deliver First Article Inspection (FAI) programmes in line with company and customer requirements
- Support Project Managers to ensure quality activities are delivered on time and aligned with programme needs
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to resolve customer, supplier and internal quality issues
- Ensure early technical support is in place to resolve supplier quality concerns
- Support licensor, customer and supplier novation and setup processes, including APQP and contractual flow-down
- Attend project and supplier review meetings as required
- Support make/buy decision-making
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
- Ensure effective and timely handover of project quality information into BAU
About You
- Degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline, or significant relevant aerospace industry experience
- Strong knowledge of aerospace regulatory frameworks, including UK CAA, EASA, FAA and CAAC (Part 21G, Part J and Part 145)
- Understanding of military production and maintenance regulations
- Experience with TSO/ETSO ownership transfer and associated approvals
- Proven delivery of First Article Inspection (FAI) programmes to customer requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience resolving complex quality and technical issues
- Confident user of MS Office and ERP systems, with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing project environment with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Able to consider wider business implications when making decisions
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and willing to share knowledge and support development of others
- Flexible approach to working hours and willing to travel within the UK and internationally as required
