Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a Hydraulic / Pneumatic Test Technician to join our Operations team. This role will be based at our Staverton site in Gloucestershire.
As a Hydraulic / Pneumatic Test Technician, you’ll take ownership of testing and fault diagnosis across a range of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components, ensuring all work meets strict regulatory and customer requirements. Working from engineering drawings, specifications and detailed work instructions, you’ll carry out complex testing activities, interpret results and ensure full traceability throughout.
You’ll be relied upon as a technical expert within the team, supporting fault finding, strip-down and repair activities, as well as contributing to Engineering and Quality investigations. You’ll play an important role in resolving technical issues, improving processes and ensuring high standards of workmanship across the function.
Alongside hands-on testing, you’ll help maintain best practice within the team, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with all procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong experience working with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems within a regulated manufacturing or aerospace environment. You’ll be confident interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications, with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.

You’ll also be someone who can contribute beyond your own work, supporting others, sharing knowledge and working collaboratively with Engineering, Quality and Operations teams. Experience with hydraulic testing environments is highly desirable, and any electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
