Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are recruiting for a Customer Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality team based at our Bishops Cleeve site. This role will move across to our Tewkesbury site later in 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary quality focal point for assigned customers, building trusted relationships and leading structured performance reviews.
  • Plan, coordinate and host customer quality audits and surveillance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Continuing Airworthiness regulations, Part-145 requirements, customer contracts and the MOE / Integrated Management System.
  • Provide independent quality oversight across assigned product lines or programmes.
  • Lead and support investigations into non-conformances, escapes, customer returns and audit findings.
  • Drive robust root cause analysis and corrective action (8D, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Support occurrence reporting, safety investigations and Safety Management System (SMS) activities.
  • Analyse defect trends and KPI data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Escalate quality or airworthiness risks appropriately to senior leadership.
About You

We’re looking for a quality professional who combines strong regulatory knowledge with confident stakeholder engagement.

You Will Ideally Have
  • Knowledge of UK CAA / EASA Part-145 regulations and Continuing Airworthiness requirements.
  • Experience within aerospace quality or a highly regulated aviation environment (3–5+ years).
  • Experience supporting regulatory or customer audits.
  • A background in customer-facing quality roles.
  • Practical application of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence presenting KPI data and influencing operational teams.
  • A degree in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience within a Part-145 maintenance organisation, internal auditor qualification, or Lean / Six Sigma training would be advantageous.
