We’re looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, good numerical skills and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure invoices, expenses and queries are processed accurately and efficiently.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and expenses through SAP Concur.
  • Ensuring invoices are correctly matched to purchase orders, where required.
  • Ensuring all invoices are accurately coded to the correct general ledger accounts.
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Completing service desk requests as required, including supplier or customer account set-ups, payment queries and invoice issues.
  • Managing and resolving queries from suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assisting with the production of month-end reconciliations and year-end transactions.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain and Goods Receipt teams to resolve invoice and purchase order queries.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with other purchase ledger activities as required.
  • What you’ll need

Essential

  • Good numerical ability, with at least three GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise your own workload.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and suppliers at different levels.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve queries in a timely manner.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and systems.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a role covering all aspects of purchase ledger administration.
  • Experience using SAP Concur.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
