Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are recruiting for a Repair Support Engineer to join our MRO Engineering Team in Tewkesbury. Please note the role will initially be based in Staverton before moving to our new Tewkesbury facility.

About the Role
We're looking for a Repair Support Engineer – Mechanical to provide technical support to our MRO operations in Tewkesbury. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring Ontic’s mechanical repair and overhaul activity is fully supported across the entire product lifecycle — from new product introduction to retirement.
- You’ll work with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers to ensure our UK MRO capability is underpinned by robust technical documentation, effective troubleshooting support, and continuous engineering input across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
- Supporting mechanical MRO products throughout their lifecycle, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical actuation systems.
- Providing timely technical support to technicians, operators, and wider internal and external stakeholders.
- Interpreting maintenance data (CMMs, Service Bulletins, OEM documentation) to extract and apply appropriate repair and testing procedures.
- Authoring and maintaining high-quality technical reports, repair procedures, and training materials.
- Performing root cause investigations and delivering corrective/preventive actions.
- Delivering on-site technical training to A&T teams to enhance capability and compliance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain engineering excellence and meet KPI targets.
- Travelling occasionally to provide external support where required.
About You
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical discipline.
- Significant experience in a technical support or production engineering role, ideally within aerospace MRO.
- Solid understanding of civil and military MRO procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP systems.
- A self-motivated, organised, and flexible approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly to meet business needs.
