Together, we embrace the challenge to push our mission forward — becoming more than the sum of our parts. We’re a global family of specialists. We take pride in what we do and who we do it with, always striving for the best solution. We challenge the status quo, giving each other the freedom to experiment, innovate, and make a difference. Even when things get tough, we work together to deliver on our vision. Ontic is built on a culture of trust and excellence — for each other and the work we do.

The Opportunity

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Component Engineering Graduate to join us on a permanent contract. This is a structured development pathway, designed to train and develop you into a fully capable Component Engineer within an aerospace engineering environment. This is not a general engineering or rotational programme. From day one, you will begin developing the technical knowledge and commercial awareness required to manage engineering components across their lifecycle, with the expectation that you will move into a permanent Component Engineering role at the end of the programme.

Our Programme

This pathway will give you the opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and product lifecycle management — ensuring that critical aerospace components remain available, compliant, and fit for purpose. Over the course of the programme, you will gain experience in:

  • Component compatibility analysis and identification of alternatives
  • Obsolescence management and mitigation strategies
  • Supplier technical engagement and support
  • Maintaining engineering component data within ERP systems
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities
  • Preparing technical documentation and engineering recommendations

You’ll take responsibility early, working on real business-critical challenges that directly impact product availability, cost, and risk. You’ll be supported through on-the-job learning, mentoring, and structured development. By the end of the programme, you will have developed the capability to operate as a Component Engineer within Ontic.

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A degree (or predicted degree) of at least a 2:1 in Engineering, or a related technical discipline

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a genuine interest in Component Engineering and product lifecycle management as a long-term career
  • Are analytical and comfortable working with data and systems
  • Enjoy problem-solving and identifying practical solutions
  • Have strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
  • Are curious about how engineering decisions impact cost, risk, and supply
  • Are collaborative and able to build relationships across technical and non-technical teams

This role will suit candidates who are interested in developing a broad understanding of how engineering, supply chain, and product strategy come together in a regulated aerospace environment.

Start Date

September 2026

Sponsorship

Candidates wishing to apply for this role who would require sponsorship should carefully consider the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship based on their individual circumstances. Ontic does not guarantee that this role will meet sponsorship requirements.

Alongside a competitive graduate salary, we offer a range of benefits to support your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing, including:

  • Up to 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 10 hours paid volunteering time
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
