Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are recruiting for a driven and collaborative MRO Buyer for our dedicated MRO facility in Tewkesbury. Responsible for ensuring the stability of the material supply to support our customers’ needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to within the IMS
- Ensure the authority matrix is adhered to and that all investment is formally presented and signed off
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines
- Required to build strong relationships with the OE supply network to enable cross-functional working and decision making
- Accountable for managing the RFQ process and negotiations to convert purchase demand into purchase orders after appropriately evaluating vendor capability, price, delivery needs, and vendor performance
- Accountable for the allocated suppliers’ orderbook management to ensure the on-time delivery of purchased parts from vendors, to meet the business and customer requirements
- Keep the business ERP system up to date with supplier delivery commitments to allow system planning accuracy
- Responsible for ensuring that the purchasing master data is maintained within the ERP system
- Work closely with Operations and Planning to implement best practices and business efficiency
- Resolve invoice queries with the accounts payable team
- Undertake supplier site visits as and when required

- Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, customers, licensors, suppliers, and all stakeholders and uphold the company values at all times.
- Ensure reports and metrics are kept up-to-date and communicated.
- Adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to, health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities, and ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures.
- Comply with statutory requirements and regulations and Company policies.
- Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role that may be required from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- 3+ years of transactional experience in a purchasing role
- Knowledge of Supply Chain and proven experience of working with suppliers.
- A positive can-do attitude
- Effective and accurate use of MS Office applications and ERP systems.
- Able to produce clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communications (in English) at all levels.
- Ability to be a self-motivated and confident decision maker within business approval guidelines
- Confident in a fast-moving and changing environment with the skill to prioritise tasks as the project or business demands.
- Willing to occasionally work outside core hours and be flexible to react to the business priorities.
