Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for an Electronics Test Support Engineer to join our Production Engineering team based at our Head Office in Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for the setup and validation of Electronic Test Equipment for a variety of electronic products for the aviation and aerospace industries. Examples of products you’ll be working with include Fuel Measurement, Audio Communications, Propeller Control, Radar, Compass, Clocks, Engine Management, Avionics, Cockpit Instruments. In addition you’ll carry out regular troubleshooting and debugging of faulty electronic assemblies (PCBAs) to component level, determining root cause and advising of corrective actions. You’ll partner closely with colleagues across the business to include Quality, Sustainment Engineering, Test Equipment Engineering, and external suppliers.
What will you need to know?
You’ll need to have previous experience as an Electronics Test Engineer. Ideally you’ll have gained (or be working towards) a HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) qualification in Electronics. You’ll be able to demonstrate experience working with Analogue or/and Digital products and enthusiasm for supporting production. You’ll be able to test electronic circuits and fault find to component level. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate across several departments internally and suppliers externally.
