Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a Pneumatic Test Technician to join our Operations Engineering team where you'll support us in ensuring the performance, reliability and compliance of critical aerospace components. This role will be based at our Staverton site.
As a Pneumatic Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing and validating pneumatic and mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet strict aviation standards. Working in a highly regulated environment, you’ll carry out testing activities using dedicated test equipment, following detailed engineering specifications and work instructions to ensure accuracy, consistency and full traceability.
You will support fault finding, strip, rebuild and repair activities where required, working closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves completing accurate documentation, conducting self-inspections, and ensuring all components are prepared for quality control checks, while maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring experience from a pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic or testing environment, with a strong understanding of engineering components and technical documentation. You’ll be confident interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with a high level of attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset. Experience testing pneumatic units would be highly beneficial, alongside any exposure to electrical or hydraulic testing. You’ll be comfortable working to tight tolerances and deadlines, with a hands-on, problem-solving approach. An apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline is desirable, along with good computer literacy to support documentation and system use.
