In December 2023 CoStar Group purchased OnTheMarket (OTM) with the intention of developing this established brand into the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal. Supported by deep expertise, we will develop a world‑class user experience, offering top written content, imagery, design and functionality. The OnTheMarket product will better support home buyers, sellers, agents and developers than ever before.
As a successful OTM Business Development Consultant (BDC), you will manage, nurture & grow your existing client base with high integrity. You’ll be part of a dynamic, motivated team that takes an entrepreneurial approach to sell, train and retain clients on the OTM suite of products. You will collaborate with a sales team working toward becoming the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal.
Responsibilities- Develop business growth through sourcing, generating, and building new business for OTM.
- Understand the OTM suite of products and how they best support client needs.
- Identify new sales leads and contact potential clients.
- Meet new and existing clients in person.
- Negotiate business terms with new and existing clients.
- Work with senior team members to manage risks and communicate results.
- Build on excellent communication skills and product knowledge to pitch to new and prospective clients.
- Represent OTM by hosting and attending industry events and networking with property professionals in your market.
- Proven track record of sales success – especially selling online marketplaces, portals and similar B2B environments; other sales backgrounds also considered.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow clients over the medium and long term, providing excellent service.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and objection‑handling skills with confidence and patience to make complex proposals.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to metrics intelligently and effectively.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Consultative selling style with account‑management techniques to grow accounts over time; passion for building relationships and problem‑solving with clients.
- Ability to navigate a large organisation – identify decision‑makers, influencers, blockers and align them.
- Current and valid driver’s licence.
- Satisfactory completion of a driving record/abstract check prior to start.
