Our values shape everything we do, and we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can perform at their best.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and practical Interim IT Support Specialist to support day‑to‑day IT operations onsite at our Carnaby and Kelleythorpe sites in East Yorkshire. Due to the requirements of the role we are unable to consider fully remote candidates or anyone who cannot commit to being present on site five days a week. Working closely with the IT team, you will be instrumental in maintaining and supporting core infrastructure and end‑user services, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and performant. You will provide primarily 2nd line support, with occasional involvement in more advanced technical issues as required, and will also contribute to project delivery and ongoing system improvements, including aspects of cyber security.

The role will involve administering Microsoft 365 services, supporting on‑premise Active Directory, and working across a hybrid environment. You will occasionally assist in responding to cyber security alerts and supporting vulnerability management activities, as part of broader IT operations. In addition, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and third‑party providers, supporting users across both office and shop‑floor environments within a manufacturing setting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, onsite role combining operational IT support and project delivery.

About You

  • You will have solid experience in 2nd line IT support, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a broad spectrum of technical issues across infrastructure and end‑user environments.
  • As a confident and approachable communicator, you will be comfortable supporting colleagues at all levels and collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
  • You will bring a proactive and security‑conscious approach, with hands‑on experience responding to incidents and addressing vulnerabilities in a practical, operational setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will enable you to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Proven 2nd line IT support experience within a business or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and end‑user devices.
  • Excellent communication skills, supporting users at all levels.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and third‑party providers.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Competence in managing on‑premise Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Familiarity with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
  • Exposure to cyber security practices, including incident response and vulnerability management.
  • Exposure to Mimecast email security or 365 Defender email security advantageous.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory and hybrid environments is essential; exposure to security tooling and project delivery would be highly advantageous.

ABG is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and we welcome applications from everyone who meets the criteria.
