Scope: Fully Employed

Salary: £40k per Annum

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, research, and produce high‑quality technical documentation with a focus on S1000D‑structured content and material written in Simplified Technical English (STE).
  • Work closely with engineers, project leads, and subject matter experts to collect, verify, and clarify detailed technical information.
  • Convert engineering details into clear, accurate, and user‑oriented documentation for operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee version control and documentation updates throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with engineering changes and releases.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years working experience producing aerospace documentation using S1000D and Simplified Technical English (STE) for content such as Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) and other related modules.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems and robust version‑control practices.
  • BSc or HNC/HND in Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline - an advantage.
  • English - Mother Tongue.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard authoring tools such as Arbortext Editor, Adobe FrameMaker.
  • Prior experience documenting Ground Based Air Defence systems - an advantage.
