About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive, and compassionate School Administrative Assistant to join our team at one of our special needs schools. This is a key role within the school, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school and helping staff deliver the best possible support to our students. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external professionals, and will play an important role in maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the school leadership team and staff
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and front desk enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate pupil records and school databases
- Support with attendance monitoring and reporting
- Assist with scheduling meetings, reviews, and appointments
- Prepare letters, reports, and school communications
- Support coordination of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) documentation where required
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies
About You
- Previous experience in an administrative role (school experience desirable)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g., SIMS or Arbor - desirable)
- Ability to work calmly in a busy environment
