Join our community outreach team in Barrow as a support worker to help adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities to live their best lives.

The role involves engaging with service users, building trusting, therapeutic relationships, and supporting independence in daily living.

The role includes visiting service users in their own homes or in other settings, offering practical support to enable independent living and providing emotional support in accordance with individual support plans.

Support tasks include helping with daily living activities such as cooking, appointments, medication, and money management.

Responsibilities

  • Visit service users in their homes or other settings to provide practical and emotional support.
  • Assist with daily living tasks to promote independent living (e. g., cooking, appointments, medication management, money management).
  • Engage with service users, build trusting, therapeutic relationships, and follow individual support plans.

Requirements

  • Location: Barrow, UK. Applicants must be located in and eligible to work within the UK.
  • Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (22.5 hours per week) available on a flexible rota.
  • Ability to lone work and use your own initiative.
  • Driving is essential; you must be a car owner or have access to a vehicle. Mileage allowance is paid.
  • Experience working with adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities is preferred.
