We're looking for caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Children's Outreach Support Workers to provide 1:1 and 2:1 support to children and young people with learning disabilities in the community.
No two days are the same.
Whether you're supporting a child to access activities they enjoy, develop independence, build confidence, or simply have fun in the community, you'll be making a genuine difference to their lives.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Providing person‑centred support tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Supporting children and young people to access community activities, clubs, parks, leisure centres, and social opportunities.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills.
- Supporting communication using individual communication methods where required.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive relationships.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
- Supporting children with behaviours that may challenge using positive behaviour support approaches.
About You
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding.
- Can plan sessions and use own initiative.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently as well as 2:1.
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD or additional needs.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People's Workforce, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory needs, or complex behaviours.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle and Business Insurance.
