Role Purpose

To support the efficient day-to-day running of the yard by maintaining organisation, managing equipment and stock, and assisting with logistics and basic maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager on all yard activities and requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment at all times
  • Arrange, store, and manage equipment, with particular attention to UV lining equipment
  • Prepare equipment and materials for upcoming jobs and site requirements
  • Carry out deliveries to site as required
  • Collect plant, tools, and equipment from suppliers and providers
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Perform basic maintenance on small generators, pumps, and similar equipment
  • Keep accurate stock records, including tracking incoming and outgoing items
  • Maintain maintenance logs and service records for equipment
  • Identify damaged or faulty equipment and report issues promptly
  • Support general yard operations and assist other team members when needed

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or similar environment (preferred but not essential)
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Practical, hands-on approach to work
  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence (training can be provided)
  • Lorry/HGV driving licence (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience with plant, generators, pumps, or similar equipment
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge
