The Role

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Operational Managers, you'll support the commercial management of several projects and learn how to:

  • Assistin the preparation of valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, budgetsand profitability.
  • Maintain records of costs, variations, programmechangesand project performance.
  • Support subcontractor procurement, administrationand account management.
  • Help prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and CVRs.
  • Learn and apply NEC and JCT contract principles.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, subcontractorsand internal stakeholders.
  • Assistinidentifying commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
  • Support tendering activities and pricing exercises.
  • Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or due to graduate this year).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ambitious, proactiveand eager to learn.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office packages.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Previousplacement year, internship or work experience within construction, utilitiesor civil engineering.
  • Basic understanding of NEC or JCT contracts.
  • Interest in water, infrastructureor civil engineering projects.
