OnSite is one of the UK’s leading providers of professional contracting services. An exciting opportunity is available for a Finance Assistant to join the team in Tipton. The role reports to the Finance Manager and is part of the Support Service Finance Team, which handles the financial, commercial, and administrative activities of the business.

The position is suitable for someone with experience in accounts, bookkeeping, and purchase and sales ledgers. The role also involves project analysis to support commercial and operational managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Allocate project costs accurately to support project costing and financial tracking.
  • Check, verify, and code supplier invoices in line with company procedures.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure accurate matching and allocation against supplier and contractor invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve purchasing, supplier, and invoice-related queries or disputes.
  • Conduct project financial analysis to support commercial and operational managers.
  • Promote operational efficiency by reviewing financial data and challenging processes where appropriate.
  • Respond to general finance and accounting enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, ensuring compliance and control standards are maintained.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Provide administrative and financial support to the Finance Manager and Head of Finance.
  • Undertake additional finance and administrative duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
  • Studying towards an AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualification, or possess equivalent experience within a finance team.
  • Previous experience working in a finance, accounts, or administrative support role.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries and discrepancies.
  • Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using Oracle E-Business Suite would be advantageous, although not essential.
