Onsite is part of the South Staffordshire Group – a 3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering long-term development and career progression.
OnSite is looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Document Controller to play a critical role in the successful management of project documentation across our Severn Trent Water (STW) programmes. You'll be responsible for ensuring all project documentation is correctly logged, reviewed, approved, issued, stored, and maintained in line with OnSite's Principal Contractor responsibilities, STW's governance requirements, and relevant industry standards.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, communicates confidently, and enjoys working collaboratively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
The Role:
- Manage and control all project documentation (drawings, RAMS, permits, reports, certificates, technical submissions).
- Maintain document registers, version control, and structured filing systems.
- Ensure documents are reviewed, approved, and issued in line with Principal Contractor and Severn Trent Water (STW) requirements.
- Upload and manage documents within required systems (e.g. CDEs, SharePoint, SAP).
- Support compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Liaise with project teams and stakeholders to ensure timely submission and approval of documents.
- Support audits and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
What you'll need:
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' document control experience within construction, engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of document control processes and version management.
- Experience using document management systems (CDEs, SharePoint, etc.).
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively.
Desirable
- Experience within the water sector (ideally STW).
- Understanding of CDM and Principal Contractor responsibilities.
- Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001).
- Experience supporting audits and governance reviews.
