This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the water industry’s most critical challenges while developing your expertise across data, network operations, and strategic resolution planning. Onsite is part of the South Staffordshire Group – a 3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering long‑term development and career progression.
We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of specialist UV lining projects, working alongside experienced Project Managers from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) through to completion. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commercial awareness and project coordination experience who’s looking to develop into a full Project Manager role.
The Role
- Supporting Project Managers with planning, coordination, and delivery of UV projects
- Assisting with project execution plans, programmes, and schedules
- Coordinating with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning teams
- Supporting site activities, meetings, and inspections where required
- Assisting during the ECI phase, including scope definition, risk reviews, and constructability input
- Supporting cost estimates, budgets, pricing models, and supplier evaluations
- Tracking value of works completed (VOWD) and supporting monthly cost reporting
- Monitoring costs, variations, forecasts, and margin performance
- Supporting invoicing, progress claims, and change management
- Preparing project reports, dashboards, and maintaining project documentation
- Supporting HSEQ requirements and promoting a strong safety culture
Essential What you’ll need:
- Qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar
- Experience in a project support or coordination role within UV, water/wastewater, industrial, or process environments
- Understanding of ECI project delivery models
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with experience in cost tracking and margin control
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects
- Proficiency with tools such as MS Project, Excel, and ERP systems
Desirable
- Experience within the UV treatment or water infrastructure sector
- Exposure to contract administration and progress claims
- Knowledge of value engineering and cost optimisation techniques
