This Apprenticeship is learning where you will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet/specialist equipment remains in excellent condition. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of vehicles and equipment while gaining hands-on experience in diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.

Apprenticeship Summary
  • Annual wage: Starting wage £7.55 p/h
  • 40 hours per week Monday – Friday.
  • Competitive industry rates of pay once training is completed and a level of competency is achieved.
  • Expected duration: 3 Years
  • Possible start date: 01 September 2025
  • Positions: 2 positions available, 1 Worcester and 1 Swindon
What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Vehicle safety inspections
  • Observing and assisting senior technicians
  • Servicing vehicles and equipment – carrying out checks and general maintenance according to the manufacturers/company guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Maintaining repair and service records
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Using engineering tools and equipment - including hand and power tools, engineering and technical manuals and diagnostic and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Various fabrication works
  • Upholding good housekeeping practices in the workshop
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will receive on the job training from experienced colleagues. The candidate will also attend the training academy. The training provider will attend the workplace to carry out training and site assessments. The employer and the training provider will offer all the support required to successfully complete the qualification. At the end you will gain a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

This qualification and experience will massively improve your employability and prospects for the future. This apprenticeship will typically take up to 3 years, with the opportunity for further progression upon completion and career development.

Qualifications

To be considered for this apprenticeship you must have GCSEs, Functional Skills or Key Skills at grade C/4 or above in English and maths (or equivalent). If your grades are below this, we will discuss your options for taking functional skills in Maths and/or English. As well as this, predicted grades are accepted, and work experience or knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
