Role Description
This is a part‑time, on‑site role based in Worcester for the position of HR Manager. The HR Manager is a hands‑on, operational HR role, crucial to supporting the day‑to‑day running of our organisation and ensuring our people receive consistent, fair and responsive HR support. The HR Manager will lead and deliver the operational HR service, ensuring policies, processes and systems are applied effectively across the organisation. You will provide practical, expert support to managers and teams, enabling them to deliver excellent services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. This role manages a small HR team and works closely with managers to support recruitment, employee relations, wellbeing, compliance and people processes across the full employment lifecycle.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced operational HR professional who thrives in a busy, people‑focused environment. You will have strong experience across the full employment lifecycle and be confident providing hands‑on advice to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability. You will be highly organised, pragmatic and approachable, with a strong understanding of employment law and best practice. Your ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and apply HR policies consistently will be key to your success. You will enjoy supporting managers and staff, solving problems and ensuring HR systems, processes and data are accurate, compliant and effective, while also having the ambition and curiosity to develop your strategic HR capability over time.
Person Specifications
- CIPD qualified Level 5
- At least 3 years HR management experience
- Proficiency in employment relation matters including, disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability
- Experience in policy development, performance management, and designing and delivering training
- Knowledge of local and national employment laws and compliance requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in HR tools and software is an advantage
