About the role
Join ONSIDE and discover the role as a Wellbeing & Emotional Support Practitioner and work within an organisation and be part of a team of professionals working within Melo community hubs across Worcestershire to support children and young people (aged 0-25 years old) with their mental health and wellbeing. A Wellbeing & Emotional Support Practitioner will work with children and young people providing early intervention and preventative emotional wellbeing and mental health services. Providing children and young people with the skills and techniques to better manage their own emotional wellbeing and improve their confidence and self-esteem. This will result in children and young people who cope better with stress, anxiety and life challenges, to enable them to participate fully in life.
This vacancy is for 29.5 hours per week to be worked on Tuesday 11am-6pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 12pm-7pm, Friday 9am-4:30pm, and every other Saturday 9am-1pm.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people ideally in a behavioural change or support role context. They should have a proven ability to identify and understand individual needs and the skills required to inspire change, build rapport and be creative in their approach. They should also be able to equip children & young people with tools and techniques to manage low level mental ill health, improve their confidence and create a personalised plan to address issues that are impacting negatively on their lives. They should be passionate about ensuring children and young people have access to the support and interventions needed to improve their lives and ensure that their best interests are at the heart of everything they do.
