Salary Band: £24,000 – £27,000 Full time equivalent per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 25-37 hours per week (to include evenings and Saturdays)

About the role

Join ONSIDE and discover the role as a Wellbeing & Emotional Support Practitioner working within an organisation and as part of a team of professionals located across Melo community hubs in Bromsgrove, Redditch, Kidderminster and Worcester. You will support children and young people (aged 0-25 years) with their mental health and wellbeing. A Wellbeing & Emotional Support Practitioner will work with children and young people providing early intervention and preventative emotional wellbeing and mental health services. You will provide children and young people with the skills and techniques to better manage their emotional wellbeing, improve confidence, and self‑esteem. This results in children and young people who cope better with stress, anxiety and life challenges, enabling them to participate fully in life.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people, ideally in a behavioural change or support role context. You should have a proven ability to identify and understand individual needs, and the skills required to inspire change, build rapport and be creative in your approach. You should also be able to equip children & young people with tools and techniques to manage low‑level mental ill‑health, improve confidence, and create a personalised plan addressing negative impacts on their lives. A passion for ensuring children and young people have access to the support and interventions needed to improve their lives, with their best interests at the heart of everything you do, is essential.
